About Dr. Elpidio Magalong, Jr
Elpidio Magalong, Jr. MD received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of the Philippines. He completed his internal medicine residency training at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann.
Dr. Magalong is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Certified Medical Director by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.
After his training, he joined a multispecialty practice in Visalia, California. In 2003, Dr. Magalong moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and practiced as a hospitalist and a post-acute care physician. He is a founding member of Alameda Inpatient Medical.
Dr. Magalong is an advocate for patient safety and quality of care. He has served as the Chief of Staff / President of the Medical Staff and Chair of Medicine at Alameda Hospital. He is a member of the Alameda Hospital medical staff’s Medical Executive Committee, Pharmacy, and Therapeutics Committee, Infection Control Committee, and is the Chair of the Credentials Committee. He also serves as a medical director at several skilled nursing facilities in the community. He is a member of the medical staff at Alameda Hospital, Alameda Health System – John George Hospital / San Leandro Hospital, and Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
Dr. Magalong stives to advocate for all his patients and treats them the way he wants providers to treat his family.

Insurance Accepted
We are contracted with most commercial PPO insurance plans. However, we do not currently accept Individual or Family plans purchased off the Health Care Exchange. Also, we are unable to see patients who are un-insured or do not have current health insurance coverage. Please contact your health plan to obtain the most accurate information and determine your coverage. You can also contact our office to inquire about our participation in your plan, but we cannot answer coverage questions. Please keep in mind that the following is not an exhaustive list of all insurance plans we accept.
